Hurricane damage, a TWIA windstorm claim, flooding, fire, or a denied insurance claim? Port Arthur Public Adjuster works for policyholders—never insurance companies—to document the full loss, review the insurer's estimate, and guide you through every step of the claim.
Tell us what happened. A licensed public adjuster will review your situation and explain your options. No cost, no obligation.
Why choose us
After a hurricane or major loss, your insurance company sends its own adjusters, estimators, and sometimes engineers. Their job is to evaluate the claim for the insurer. A licensed public adjuster is the only claim professional who works for you—the policyholder.
Port Arthur Public Adjuster helps homeowners, landlords, and business owners in Jefferson County understand their policies, document the full scope of damage, and present a clear, well-supported claim—whether it is with a standard carrier, TWIA, or a flood insurer.
Our services
From hurricane and windstorm losses to flood, fire, water, and commercial claims, our Port Arthur public adjusters handle residential and commercial property insurance claims across Jefferson County and the Golden Triangle.
Coastal coverage, explained
Jefferson County is a TWIA first-tier coastal county. Many Port Arthur homes carry a homeowners policy that excludes wind, a separate TWIA windstorm policy, and a flood policy. Each has its own adjuster, deductible, and rules.
Fire, theft, plumbing leaks, and—if wind is not excluded—wind and hail. Check the wind/hail or named-storm deductible on your declarations page.
Wind and hail damage when your regular policy excludes it. Repairs, including re-roofs, need TDI windstorm inspection (WPI-8) to keep TWIA eligibility.
Rising water and storm surge, which homeowners and TWIA policies exclude. Proof-of-loss deadlines are strict, so start documenting right away.
When wind and water damage overlap, insurers may disagree about which policy pays. A Port Arthur Public Adjuster documents the cause of each part of the loss so every applicable policy is considered. Read our wind vs. flood guide.
Free Claim Review
Whether you haven't filed yet, your claim was denied, or the insurer's offer won't cover repairs, a Port Arthur Public Adjuster can review your situation at no cost.

Local building codes
The City of Port Arthur's Building Inspections Division operates under the 2021 International Residential Code and International Building Code, the 2021 plumbing and mechanical codes, and the 2020 National Electrical Code. In Jefferson County, repairs on TWIA-insured buildings also need TDI windstorm inspection.
Code-required work can raise repair costs. Whether your insurer pays for it depends on your policy, often through ordinance or law coverage. A Port Arthur Public Adjuster checks whether code items belong in your claim.

Yes. Jefferson County is in the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association's coverage area, and many Port Arthur homes have a separate TWIA policy for wind and hail. TWIA claims have their own deadlines and dispute rules, so it helps to document the damage carefully from the start. See our TWIA windstorm claims page and TWIA claim guide.
Generally no. Standard homeowners and TWIA policies exclude flood, including storm surge and rising water. Flood damage is covered by a National Flood Insurance Program or private flood policy. When a hurricane causes both wind and flood damage, the loss is usually split between policies. Our wind vs. flood guide explains how.
No. The adjuster your insurer sends (a staff or independent adjuster) evaluates the claim on the insurer's behalf. A public adjuster is hired by you and represents the insured only. Both may inspect the same property, but they work for different parties. Read more in Are Insurance Adjusters Honest?
Often, yes. A Port Arthur Public Adjuster can review the denial or closing letter, your policy, and the insurer's estimate to see whether damage was missed or whether there is a basis to ask the insurer to reconsider or reopen the claim. Results depend on the policy and the facts, so we cannot promise a different outcome. See our denied insurance claims page. For lawsuits or deadlines to sue, consult a Texas attorney.
